Handcrafted creations

About

My name is Hélène, founder of Seeds.

Since childhood, I have always loved creating with my hands. From modeling clay to terracotta, then to polymer clay with which I started making my first jewelry, gesture and material have always been part of my world.

A few years later, I moved away from plastic to reconnect with more natural, and especially plant-based, materials. This sensitivity probably comes from my mother, who collected all sorts of natural treasures: bark, pieces of wood, dried leaves, seeds… She also had an incredible jewelry collection, large pieces that I loved trying on.

She told me that her own mother, my grandmother, made them in her spare time. And going back even further, my great-grandmother owned a jewelry shop. A passion that spans generations, perhaps.

Seeds began with a simple desire: to work with my hands and create objects from plants. Seeds emerged as the obvious choice. Gradually, metal came to enrich my work, engaging in a dialogue with the plant world and extending my exploration of sacred geometry; indeed, most of the pieces are engraved with it, a true symbol of life.

Largely self-taught, I built my practice through experimentation and exploration of materials, also nourished by several significant encounters: an internship around working with seeds with Romain Dufayard (2017), an introduction to jewelry making with Pascal Paturelle (2017), then training in wooden jewelry at the Escoulen School with Nathalie Groeneweg (2018).

It was in October 2019 that I took the plunge and opened my small business.

My values

A craft guided by respect

Each piece is born from a simple desire: to create with respect, awareness and sustainability, taking the time to choose each material.

Carefully chosen materials

The materials used come from French companies working with small family businesses around the world, or are sometimes simply harvested.

Objects made to last

Each creation is designed to stand the test of time, to carry a story and to remind us of the link between nature and humanity.
